CEN, the European standards body, is updating EN15780-2011: ‘Ventilation for buildings – Ductwork – Cleanliness of ventilation systems’
EVHA was influential in bringing about the standard which applies in every country of the EU
The main change will be the inclusion of kitchen extract ductwork in the standard, as grease duct cleanliness is becoming such an important issue in every country.
Most of the committee work has been done, and it is hoped that a draft will come out later this year (2018) for public consultation. Duct cleaners in every country should make sure that they register their interest with their local technical standards organisation (e.g. DIN in Germany, BS in the UK etc) to have a chance of being consulted directly
